Fashion Design & Accessories. Istituto Marangoni Milan 2020-2021.
Ritika S is an Indian fashion and accessories designer, graduate of the Istituto Marangoni in Milan.
Wanting to cultivate her interest in art and fashion, Ritika S studied at Istituto Marangoni and remotely interned in a RTW brand. She describes her style as minimal and modern, and believes that art is a universal language and the ultimate form of expression.
Her work often features intriguing color and fabric combinations alongside clean volumes.
The inspiration has origins in her culture, as “AKARA" means shape in Sanskrit.
Sustainable overcoat and accessories are reinterpreted with the idea of transforming traditional clay pots into modern and minimal designs.
The sustainable choice focuses on the use of a vegan alternative to leather, made of cactus by Desserto Pelle and organic wool.
"I was inspired by Tod's design and brand identity."
The color palette is inspired by the natural and warm tones of clay, used all over India as water storage coolers.
Through timeless design and long-lasting quality the collection becomes more sustainable since it can be enjoyed for years.
