Phoebe is a British accessories designer, graduate of the Istituto Marangoni in Florence.
BIOGRAPHY
With a previous background in communication and promotion, she has a keen interest in fashion and trends. Phoebe love pushing boundaries.
Passionate about sustainability, she always finds a way to integrate ethics into her designs through materials, fair trade or locality.
The project takes inspiration from the iconic city of Venice with a focus on history and awareness.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The concept has two meanings: helping and supporting the local community and reinterpreting - with seven upcycled platform shoes - the 18th century “Chopine” models worn in Venice.
SUSTAINABILITY
The shoes are conceived to be sustainable as the rubber, using a compression moulding technique, can be recycled and biodegraded after usage.
INTERVIEW
"I’ve chosen to reinterpret the Tod's brand values of Italian heritage, using Venice as an iconic location."
Phoebe's idea was born after Tod’s project of support for the Colosseum.
With inspiration taken from the historic flooding of the city, "A PLATFORM FOR VENICE" combines designs and awareness of the ongoing damaging effects of climatic change.
