Back to students

Jacob Pulley

Jacob grew up on the outskirts of Cambridgeshire before moving to Glasgow to study Menswear Design

He specialised in tailoring before joining the MA at Central Saint Martins.

Student Project

Jacob moved back to Cambridgeshire during Lockdown where the contrast of the city vs the fields and wildlife inspired his work. Jacob wanted to explore accessories specifically as Tod’s is a brand built on that. He dismantled shoes, used scraps of leather and canvas to create a Commando boot inspired by the iconic sole of the Gommino.

Mentorship

MENTOR: GERT JONKERS
Editor in chief and publisher of Fantastic Man, and associate editor and publisher of The Gentlewoman

Background

“I’d gone back to my family to be in Lockdown with them, so the house I was in had to be the inspiration. I was doing a photoshoot for some clothes I’d made and had collected all of my dad's paintings from around the house and stacked them up to create a backdrop.”
