David Weksler

David was born in a small town south of Tel Aviv.

From a young age art, drawing and illustration were passions leading him to pursue fashion illustration. This grew from the age of 9 into his style, growing it during his education.

Student Project

LEGALLY TOD’S
David wanted to create a bit of comedy relief for the time we are in and create his collection inspired by the iconic Elle Woods (Legally Blonde) using the juxtapositions we see in her character. Drawing from these, David brings the Gommino into a fun world of clashing colours, sandals, mega platforms and fluffy slippers to make the collection feel as extra as his muse. “For me, one of the biggest challenges was inserting myself and my aesthetic which is rather strange I would say for a brand like Tod’s. It was essentially the whole process and journey that I went through realising who I am as a designer and what I bring to the table for a brand like Tod’s”

Background

David’s Heritage is Brazilian where “Everything was loud, colourful, and very in-your-face but most pleasantly and endearingly. It's always upbeat, funny, and always musical. Growing up I was surrounded by family and amazing Brazilian cuisine and to this day I am obsessed with the ocean just like my mother who grew up by the ocean in Rio de Janeiro Bay.”
